Frank Theuns
Frank Theuns studied recorder, modern flute, counterpoint, and composition at the Royal Conservatory of Music in Brussels. He developed a great interest for historical instruments studying baroque flute with Barthold Kuijken.
He has been member of Europe's most famous baroque orchestras, including Anima Eterna, Le Concert des Nations, l'Orchestre de la Chapelle Royale, Les Talens Lyriques, and La Petite Bande. Theuns' solo recordings--Accent and Zig-Zag--include sonatas by Handel, C.P.E. Bach, Quantz, Blavet, Boismortier, Montéclair, and Hotteterre. He has also recorded Mozart's Concerto for Flute and Harp with Anima Eterna.
Theuns is professor of baroque flute at the Royal Conservatory of Music in Brussels, and he is frequently invited to give courses on interpretation throughout Europe.
